From David - March 2002
I bought a Dolphin Pro last Fall and took it to Cozumel and
the Mexican Costa Maya on about sixteen dives. Since it was
my first attempt at U/W video I had low expectations, but I've
had nothing but raves about the video footage from all who have seen
my videos. We saw all manner of sea life, including two long
interludes with loggerhead and hawksbill turtles.
The Dolphin Pro is simply incredible: bulletproof, simple to use and
clean, and perfectly balanced. It was almost 'hands off' in some
instances -- so perfectly neutral and stable in all three axes. As
an engineer, I'm always trying to find design flaws in things, but I
can find nothing to tweak or comment upon in the Dolphin Pro! It
has convinced me that anyone can make beautiful underwater
videography, if they have the right equipment.
I've been diving and instructing SCUBA for 27 years, yet this has
opened a whole new world for me, again. Though I'll not give up my
still photography (still love rich macrophotography and such) the
Dolphin Pro now gives me a tough choice on every dive: do I take my
Seamaster Pro with all its arms and strobes and cables...or do I
just let my Dolphin Pro slip along smoothly with me, to catch any
action we encounter? A tough decision, indeed.
Thanks for a truly marvelous product.
